Do they keep doing it or is this a first time thing?

Ours did that once last summer during a hot spell. We thawed them out and melted all the ice away and it hasn't done it since. Unless it keeps doing it over and over I wouldn't worry about it.

take a hose and flush the coil on the outside unit make sure its clean and nothing blocking the vents on it i think if its freezeing up you have to much freon in have you had it charged recently also if its working right you should have condasation on the big line where it comes out of the outside pump but i could be mistaken on the to much freon im gettin old and forget full if its low you wont get real cold air when mine is working right i get 55 degree air out of my ducts

Take the temp. from the register and subtract it from the temp. at the return should have 16 to 20 degrees difference if working properly. (temp split) If unit is overcharged it most likley wouldnt be freezing up however it could slug your compresser and burn it up. If evaporator coil, condenser coil and filters are clean and the blower inside is running its low on freon. Also make sure all your vents are open and you have good airflow.

dang 69 really? it aint never gonna keep up. 78 is plenty cool enough for me. i'd freeze to death at 75 when it's 90-100 outside.
