How in the world are you spending 25 dollars a month for batteries?

I use rechargables. I keep 2 in the unit, 2 in the truck and I always have more in the house charged up. 8 rechargable batteries last me many, many months. Heck I prolly go a month or close to it without having to change the batteries and that's when I am hunting 4 nights a week or so.

Now I don't have the backlight on when I run the Garmin, I run it dark and turn my light on to see it, but I have good battery life.

I have the old unit, not the new one so maybe that's it?

Walmart has a energizer rechargeable battery kit that comes with adapter to plug into the power outlet on your vehicle. Two in the Garmin and two in the charger. I think i paid like 15$ for it

I use rechargeable Duracells. I charge them every 2 or 3 nights. Been using the same set for over a year now. So my battery costs are next to nothing.

Danny, I used one set for over a year & half with no problems. When I say set I mean 2 in unit, 2 in my pocket just in case.

Eneloop by sanyo are the ones I use. Check on Ebay. the XX model i believe is 2700MAh.Claim they will still have 85% of thier power if left setting without use after three years.
