Hang up the feed bowls or buckets and feed em them just enough that they eat it all quick before anything can get on it.

There is some granular type stuff at Wal-mart called Eliminator in a red bag that I sprinkle around the kennel and it keeps the ants, fleas, and ticks away. I usually have to spread it around every 4-6 weeks.

If anyone knows how to keep black birds out of the dogs feed pan I would like to know. As soon as I pour dog feed out the black birds flock to the bowls like crazy. They will pester a dog till they run it away from the bowl and then eat all the dogs feed.

Put the feed in a automatic feeder. Birds can't figure them out.

"Diaomateous earth"
it's an organic pesticide among other benefits!
Try to find where the ants r goning out from and apply at the source.
Otherwise just broadcast it.

I can't shoot the birds I live inside the city limits. I already tried feeding the birds on the other side of the yard but the black birds flock in when they see me out feeding.

you could always get a BB gun and shoot them that way.

but try an plastic owl or something like that and see if that will scare them off.
