I bought one last June with Marshall collars and wouldn't use anything else. I have used another brand since the 80's and people told me I would be disappointed, butthey were wrong. The ease of use and handiness of the system are unsurpassed. However as I indicated get the Marshall collars. They are a whole lot stronger than the regular tracker collars.

I have one and it works fine. Not saying it's the best, but it's hard to beat the convience of having it on your belt with you. I'd say the main problem with the system is the collars. I use the strike collars and they don't seem as durable as others. I know guys who have had good luck with the classic and marshall collars. They next collars I buy for the classic will be marshall.
I've ordered a Garmin and it should be in today, but am keeping the Classic as a back up. It's been a good system overall.

Seems to be several classics for sale now. You should be able to get a good deal on a used one.

garmins

not sayin the garmins are bad its just when u get into some places its hard to find good signal..other than that i like'm since you can see how far your dog is what hes doin and stuff like that..

I

have one and it is one of the best units I have ever owned hands down. I have had the Innotek, Wildlife, Quicktrack and this unit will put you on top of the dogs. A lot of peoples problem with these units is they are hard for them to understand how to use them. That came from Tracker themselves. I love mine. JMO!!!!!!

I had one and traded it for a Garmin.I see no differance in range in the 2 but I wouldn't take 20 Trackers for my Garmin.

I like my classic. Opening night of kill season collar slipped off dog. Used tracker to find it next day from spot where we noticed it missing. Collar was on bottom of creek in 1-2 ft. of water but was still able to track it.

Classic with marshall collars is hard to beat. When I hunt I just want to be able to find my dog if he gets out of pocket, I don't need to know every move he makes. I had a classic with marshall collars & now have a Maxima 5000 and there is no difference in range but I just needed more collar space.

I'v Had the Classic and the Garmin both.... The Classic is as good as any Radio tracker made. I always found my dogs with it...

BUT,,, The Garmin is a much better system in my opinion because of the details.... The Classic with intello or Marshall colars does have more range than the Garmin , but the Garmin still gets my vote by a long shot...I need to know exactly where my dogs are because of highways and houses and the garmin is much better at that.
