I took my flu shot at the VA clinic. I hope it was a good one. Frances Gail and I stay isolated alot in the winter in hopes we don't get exposed. I hope everyone recovers soon.

officials are calling the Flu an epidemic. It is very bad here in Oklahoma. I have a 6 year old in school and I give her the wash your hands lecture everyday. We also have a 2 year old and 2 month old so we are staying pretty isolated to try and keep our chances of getting it as slim as possible. She gets out of school on Friday for Christmas break so chances of us being protected are much better. Everything you can catch you usually will if you have a child in school. Hope anyone that gets it, feels better soon.

Struck here too!

Hubby came down with it on Saturday morning & he HAS his flu shot! I started to feel achy & cold this morning, but went to bed & slept all day & feel better this evening. Hubby is back in bed as we speak, temp. up to 101.1 again. Just can't seem to shake it!

I dont know, I was pretty much oblivious to much of the world!!!

Feelin' pretty sassy to day!! Must be getting back to me old self!!

EB,

be sure to keep plenty of fluids in him and get rest.

Seems to be if you get the shot, then you're more likely to get the flu. Just dont make sense to me.

Cynthia...

The reason why most people get the flu after the "flu" shot, is because all the shot is is a small amount of the live flu virus. It's used to build up anitbodies in your body to fight off the more potent form of the flu virus.

Yes, I know that, what does not make sense is why someone would get the live virus knowing that they may get the flu in the end anyway. and still get it next year possibly ....because there is a new strain..

see what I'm talking about??? why get the shot if you may get the flu???? If you're a healthy person, you could have probably fought it off anyway.

Yeah I teach at a high school too, and we've had a ton of kids absent. It's good thing us teachers have super human immune systems from fighting of every known germ known to mankind that's brought into the schools by these snotty-nosed punks LOL!

My first year of teaching I was sick ALL the time. I got everything. Now I can roll around in anthrax and bath in e. coli and it would never phase me LOL!

(I'm knocking on wood right now...I'll probably catch the dang flu now LOL!)

PWC...

Well, I hope you dont, but if you do, here's a home remedy......

2 tablespoons Real White Liquor
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey
1 packet of Apple Cider Flavored TheraFlu
1 Cup of hot water

Mix that all together and slobber it down, and it will kill you or cure you!!!

I thought I was the only redneck coonhunter that was a teacher. Bet your the only one in the parking lot with a dog box in the truck. I know I am.

Hawk 32,

LOL! That's awesome! Yes I am the only teacher with a dog box, but a lot of the kids have hounds. We're a pretty country school, most of the other male teachers have at least been coonhunting and keep track of my "adventures"!

Not here, this is really an upper class school. I get a lot of crap from kids and other teachers for being such a redneck. My wife is the manager a bank so she gets a lot of crap about my hunting too. Last year I cancelled a bball game on sat because it was opening day of deer season. When I take off and go to a hunt on the weekend I get a lot of crap from people. None of other teachers don't even know what a coondog is.
