sorry to hear this redman. houndsman need to support trappers. but 220 size body grip traps ought to be outlawed on land. snares are illegal here , 7 inch and up body grip must be 5 feet above ground after dec 16. i havent had a dog in a trap since fur prices dropped in 80 s ,they were everywhere here then,, only one dog was seriously hurt and that was an illegal trap with teeth on it, another was caught in a 220 but luckily i was right there when it happened. if traps were a big problem in my area i might try a little training with dogs. teach then to avoid them.. has anybody done this.. how bout training to avoid cars. ? ive never done either but seems possible to me. ive known guys have some success with training them to avoid cars. guy on beagle board was teachin beagles to avoid snakes. with e- collar - a king snake and a recording of a rattlesnake.. we all got a laugh but i give him credit for trying. pete
