Pleasure and/or big game hunters

As pleasure and/or big game hunters, would you be apposed to combining these two issues and giving the Plotts a breed issue alone as before?

If you broke down CB readers by catagories, I expect you'd find that big game hunters and Plott hunters are the two smallest segments of readership. That prolly explains the reasoning for combining the two issues. That and the fact that Plotts and big game go hand in hand.

The only 3 issues I enjoy are the Black and Tan, the Plott, and the Big Game issue, so I would like to see all 3 keep their own issue. I dont care how you put the rest of it together.

The pleasure hunting and big game combination would be good ....and then they could combine the Redticks and Blueticks to make room for an armadillo hunter / slick tree issue .

The magazine is called Coonhound Bloodlines and last time I checked UKC registered 6 breeds of coonhounds. In my opinion each breed should have their own issue. Then start combining, pleasure hunter/big game hiunter/breeders issue. The PLOTTS should have their own issue. Yes I'm a Plottman and I'm sure that if they woukd combine the redbone issue with another topic the redbone people would all be up in arms too.

It only stands to reason that Plott is put with the big game. Although, as long as the Bluetick has its own issue I don't care.

Posh I hunt both Blue ticks and plotts both deserve there own issue. The thing that bothers me about big game /plott issue is it can no longer be a breed issue if this happens due to the fact that big game dogs are all breeds! Now if you share an issue this means they are entitled to the cover. I don't want my plott issue with another breed on it. Just looking at other alternatives. Please everyone that has cast your vote on this poll please give your input on both sides. Thanks

I feel just like dwd58. Keep em seperate. I take bloodlines because of the plott, black & tan and big game issues.

Contact Full Cry about an all big game issue,it would probably be a better issue than the CB big game issue anyway.

combo

i don't see where combining a plott/big game issue makes sense. if a man hunts walkers on big game he is still gonna look to the walker issue. same as the guys who hunt blue, black or red on big game. he still has his breed issue . . and you want to give him part of the plott issue. so in essence . . not only is plott coverage shrinking . . but all of the other breed coverage is growing due to inclusion in the plott issue. if there isn't enough plott material to warrant a full issue . . downsize it. save money by making it smaller . . . or go to predominantly a black and white issue with color relegated to picture only pages and the cover. i would rather see a black and white plott issue than a plott issue with a bluetick on the cover.

if so many big game hunters hunt plotts that it makes sense to you to combine them . . . . then why not leave all the other breeds out of the big game issue? make a plott issue and a plott big game issue. or save money by losing the big game issue . . . and include more big game material in the regular plott issue.

there has to be another answer.

To combine Big game and any breed to one issue is just another way of "snubbin" the big game hunters AGAIN!And for UKC or anyone to think Plotts are the main Big Game dog is also a load of crap.Come to my neck of the woods, very few hunters use plotts for bear huntin.Im not downin plotts, heck Ive owned them myself. But they ARE NOT the only big game dog.

Justin we already have a Slick Treeing Issue it will be in your mailbox next month....lol..... I just couldn't resist..... But I guess if the show fits where it, huh???

Mule Rider, I thought the Plott was Registered as a Plott Hound not a Plott Coonhound???

Mabey what we big game and Plott Hunter's should do is drop our subscription with the Bloodlines and pick up a subscription of a Big Game Magazine, like bayed solid, or Boarhunter, and just give the Bloodlines $3.00 a year instead of $20.00.....

Sam, I hate to tell ya ole Buddy, but there is a old saying " Labs rule the retreviers, Walkers rule the Nite Hunts, Pionters rule the gun dogs, but the Plott Dog is the UNDISPUTED KING of the Big Game World.................. Biggun

LOL you just keep right on believin that. Got a couple packs of "speckled" dogs here that can hold there own and more.
I had plotts some were pretty decent some not.Goes that way with about all breeds. But to belive Plotts are "King" of biggame dogs, shows a very narrow point of veiw.I will concede Plotts were the first true big game dogs, but not anymore.Shoot I even know of some "walcur" packs that dont take a back seat to no one.
