car-sick pup cures?

Anybody got a cure for car-sick pup? Got a pup now that still gets car sick everytime she's hauled, and been hauling her for a couple of months. Anyone out there with a cure or suggestions?

both of the dogs i have now were this way as pups, they outgrew it, but until then, i wouldnt feed them for at least 4 hours before you go... I had one also that, if she knew she was a going somewhere, wouldnt poo, she would hold it and then poo in the box... she now belongs to a lion hunter... LOL

I appreciate the responses, but we are past the not feeding part. Even if she hasn't eaten all day, she will drool and throw-up bile. Any other cures out there?

GIVE HER A DRAMAMINE PILL. LOL. ABOUT THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO BESIDES NOT FEEDING HER PRIOR TO HUNTING IS HOPE SHE OUT GROWS IT. SORRY I COULDN'T HELP MORE. I HAD A PUP DO THIS UNTIL IT WAS ABOUT 14 MONTHS OLD. LIKE THE ABOVE SHE NOW BELONGS TO SOMEONE ELSE.

I'm going to try dramamine

for my B&T pup (nicknamed Barf Bag). I've tried all the other remedies - just hope he outgrows it.

I had a pup that would get sick every time it rode, didn't matter about when you fed it,after about 30 minutes when you stopped, she would hunt fine.I finally got tired of her and gave her away.

I agraee with Mr Vaught, TIME will probably take care of the problem. Along with TIME a lots of patience and some effort on your part will pay off, not only with this problem, but with the overall development of the pup. Here's what I'd do; acquaint him to the box gradually, feed him there. Then later, with and empty stomach, take him on short trips, maybe starting out 1/4 mile then graduating to longer trips as he gets more comfortable.

In my opinion, a lot of dogs are discarded too soon. The micro-wave mind set of today doesn't necessarily apply to everything, especially the development of a well trained coon dog. "Off the shelf" cooners do NOT exist, they are more of a project.

a friend of mine(yes i have 1 or 2,lol) had a young dog that did this and he took it to the vet and had to give it some high dollar pills to stop the seasickness ...well another friend of his told him about a deal he done with one he had like that .and that was to install stactic straps on his hunting truck .you know the rubber/metal strips that drag the ground on the electic company trucks ..

he put them on his hunting vehicles and no more pills after that....

I had a beagle once that got sick in the truck. I think there was something mental wrong with her. She hunted and all that fine but got sick in the box if you even put her in it. I got rid of her and they had a litter of pups out of her and 4 of the pups were the same way.

ginger is a natural alternative to the dramamine. You should be able to find it at any health food store. No drowsy side effects.
