Whistle Pig...
Oh were proud! We're tickled pink! It was honest all right. Right down to the possum that they slammed!!! Hey, I never said that he was perfect.
Here's the story, didnt have time to post it other times!
Hank was the only male in a 4 dog cast. He's been penned up with 5 females in heat close by for nearly 3 months. Daddy has Beagles and one would come out and another would go in! I just knew that Hank would have ladies on his mind. But he never even sniffed of one of the females, they were the least of his concerns.
First turn lose:
Hank gets 2nd strike 2nd tree. He actually treed first, but him and this other dog sounded alot alike, and the boy treed his dog for Hank. He admitted later that he was wrong and he was sorry. Coon was seen. That gave him 150+. At that point in time, Hank was the only dog that had plus points. It took him 90 minutes to work the track, because it was an old track and the coon had been gone a while. He was the only dog that stayed in there and didnt get minused for coming out or off the track OR off the tree!!
2nd turn lose:
Hank gets 2nd strike and 4th tree for 100. Quincy said as soon as he heard him locate-2nd, that he thought that it was a possum. See, sometimes Hank will have a squeak to his bark. Usually, it's a possum if he does. The last couple he's treed, he's treed for a minute then come off because we've been trying to break him. We were hoping that he would come off and Quincy wouldnt have to tree him in at all! Well, he treed for a minute, and he quit squeaking, and Quincy treed him in last. He was going to get minused anyways, if Hank was treed, but not declared treed, and he wasnt 100% sure that it was a possum!! So, he treed him in just in case it was a coon. It was a possum!!
That track and tree took up the rest of the 2 hours, and Hank ended up with 50+.
There was a guy on the cast that had an 8 year old female direct out of Lipper. He said that he wanted to hunt some more with us, and that we could use him as a reference if we needed too. He said that even on the possum where he wasnt barking whole heartedly, he was one of the loudest dogs that he's been in the woods with.
They all had a good cast, nice dogs, nice people.
