Bearhunter...

Well, you know what they say, there was a Bloodhound outcross at one time!

Maybe it's just taken this long to show up!

He's an indepent little cuss too. He dont worry about what the other pups are doing. He goes exploring with or without them!

See!

I dont know!

Ask his DNA that question.

Not all Redbones are cherry red.

I can assure you, he is Purebred.

Here's what the breed standards say.

Solid red preferred, small amount of white on brisket or feet not objectionable.

His grandpa looks just like him, and he made GRCH with no problem.

Who knows.

I think it's pretty. It makes him easy to spot out of a crowd of red dogs! Easy to identify if he ever gets stolen too!!!

that is one nice looking old style hound . I wish more hounds looked like that ( mine included) mine is fairly houndy as Walkers go but nowhere near what your pup is. Dont get me wrong i like my pup but i wish my walker looked more "hound doggy"like your pup. My wife and i would love to know where you got your pup from?

I hope that you dont think that I was mad. I know you didnt. I was mostly talking to Subzero anyway, thinking that he wasnt purebred!!! I can see where you thought that I was talking to you!

This was for Subzero-"I dont know! Ask his DNA that question. Not all Redbones are cherry red. I can assure you, he is Purebred.

This was for you:"Here's what the breed standards say. Solid red preferred, small amount of white on brisket or feet not objectionable.

Who knows.

I think it's pretty. It makes him easy to spot out of a crowd of red dogs! Easy to identify if he ever gets stolen too!!!"

But you're right anyways.

In the breed standards, it says a small amount of white. I think he's got a pretty good bit of white.

He's going to be a show dog deluxe, he'll already stand for us!

Look at his feet!

I'm really wondering now if the white will affect his showing. I hope not!

Pepper:

We got him from Lester Greene here in Western NC.

They are going to have another litter that will be ready the 2nd week of December.

They are heavy Timber Chopper bred pups. All of them are dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, red. The pups will be $150 a piece. With $75 to book a pup, the other $75 due when you pick the pup up at 8 weeks old. Give them a call 828-497-6554-Lester or Lahoma (like Oklahoma without the OK!)

I just love Dusty to death! We are hardcore Walker people, but we know what this pups bloodline's history is. We've hunted with the mother, a 1/2 sister, 10 1/2 brothers, and several cousins. If we didnt think that he had it in him to do good, we wouldnt have gotten him.

He is a cutie, sounds like a good hunter, too. Best of luck with him. I have a dark red and lighter red dog...like both fine, but I am partial to the lighter one...it's easier to see in the dark

great lookin pup. I think its the little bit of rinkles in his face that seems like bloodhound. Looks pretty thick for 13weeks, will probably be a pretty big hound. I like the old style look, i think a hounds ears should come atleast to his nose but hopefully farther, if not then it dont much look like a hound to me

100% USDA Choice, Purple Ribbon Bred, Bonified Redbone.

Obviously, you dont know much about your breeds.

How many cur dogs you seen got ears like those!!

What color is this?

Subzero,

When I was a kid, we never saw redbones that were cherry red. They were all a dull reddish tan. The cherry red came from the bench shows. They bred for the cherry red, and lost most of the hunt in the dogs. I for one, miss seeing the red dogs in the hunts.

If you want a red dog for hunting, your choices are limited to a few breeders, and Christy certainly got hers from a hunting background.

Mike...

Thanks a bunch!

We know and have hunted with the sire/dam/sire's sire and dam/dam's dam/1/2 sister's by sire/1/2 brother and sisters by dam/and I dont know how many cousins.

We didnt just get any Redbone puppy. We got one that we have been around the bloodlines for years, and have saw dogs that have came out of this cross and that.

We knew what these pups would be when we agreed to get one.

Now we are loving every minute of it, because he was 13 weeks old on 10/28/03 and on the 25th, he trailed and treed on a drug coon hide. By himself with no other dog showing him what to do!!

I cant wait to hit the woods with him.
