Really don't know about max. I believe he's been dead for several years. If you wanna breed to a dog out of him call Dave sullivan about COONBUSTER.

I spoke with Mike H. several months ago. They were breeding very few females because of ax's age. I have his # at home and will send it to you later if you need it. He's a really nice guy.

I heard recently that Ax was not breeding at all---but that's just hearsay.

I hunted several times with Max. He has a beautiful mouth and is as classy a tree dog as i ever saw, a stand on the tree, every breath tree dog that didn't jump or chew or anything but stand there and make music.

I saw old max tree a coon one night snake-bit. He was standing on the tree with one foot, the other one swollen as big as my arm. We never knew it until we got to the tree. He never missed a bark.

Of course, it was early fall, and not a very hot night.

Does the Max dog babble like Coonbuster, Coonbuster was for sell here once in this county just a few years back for a few hundred dollars. He left here, and I am not for sure why he got away ??????????? there are a lot of hunters here that need a good coon dog including me

You're right, Gayle. There wasn't a loose bark in him. he was a coon dog.
