Skuna River Fred pups

I just raised a litter off of Fred and before I bred to him I hunted with a couple young dogs out of him and talked to alot of people that had Fred dogs .
I found out that Fred does put alot of tree in his pups. In some cases maybe a little too much if they are not handled right. Very stylish tree dogs with big mouths.
I saw one that was very good about having coons when he treed and I saw one that would only have a coon about half the time. I know of one dog from fred that makes way to many trees and know of a litter mate to that same dog down in Ga. that a very honest man owns and him and his son tell me she is the most honest and accurate dog they own. I know others who hunt with the gyp and they verify that. They say she is a **** nice hound.

Here's what it looks like I got in my pups

Decent conformation- not show dogs but decent conformation. My old gyp has some faults in the looks catagory but Fred improved on that.

Natural treeing instinct -(these pups are just 5 months old and I know of three that have shown natural instinct to tree, treeing squirrells and hang up coons since 3 months old)

Good Mouths- (not every pup in my litter has a great mouth but most are going to have better mouths then the old mamma ,and a couple were exceptional)

SMARTZ - these pups were the best acting and easiest pups to teach anything that I have ever raised. I 'd say this has impressed me the most about them.

As far as game drive and hunting desire and what kind of nose my pups will have well it's too early as the pups are just now old enough to even start to hunt so the verdict is still out on that .I have already seem some game drive and desire to hunt in the early stages but we'll see how that develops

One thing I will say though is I sold 6 pups out of the litter and 4 of the 6 went to hunters who are hunting dogs from Fred and wanted more! I think that says alot right there!

I have hunted with a few, and wasn't impressed. They were all females, one you couldn't hear it bark from 50 yds away, the other would run track for hours and not get treed and the third was a decent dog, but wasn't anything real special.

I dont know bolt action. The handler was kindof a tall guy with a beard and seemed to be a kinda wealthy guy. Had some GREAT HUNTING PLACES. Especially for north Ga. The dog was young and he BURNED THE WOODS UP that night and won the cast fair and square. I think the guy was from around Summerville or rome. I think. Going by how he was that night he's probably a grand nite or at least a nite champion by now.

Hunted with about a dozen of them. From a 7 mo old pup that was treeing her own coon to two silver champs and a gold champ. For the most part, I like what I have see and wouldn't mind owning one myself in the future.
