I am gonna agree with some,and disagree with others.
I agree that a finished out hound,say 4 years or older,will more than likely be out of shape,but should not need any tuning up.
But a younger hound could be a whole different story.If you got a two year old hound that was pretty freshly broke off deer right before he was layed up for 6 months then I would say there is gonna be a good chance that said hound is gonna need a refresher course to set it back on the strait and narrow.
As far as females acting a little goofy before and after a heat cycle,or a litter of pups,I would have to agree with this happening from time to time.
I have seen some pretty nice females look pretty stupid because of one of these two reasons.
It aint because of being layed up though,its because of raging hormones.
I reckon about all females get a little unpredictable at certain times.
As a general rule of thumb though,I am gonna have to agree that most of them dogs that just need "tuned back up" probably aint worth wasting time on.
