Wich would be better?

Which would be better? Buying a decent started dog and buying a pup and sending them to a training "school"?

this may just be me but dont send a pup to a trainer learn what a hound is then learn how to train one then getcha a pup and start trainin yourself and the pup its alot of work and energy aggrevation long nights but its worth every bit of it when you see that pup start addin it up and figurin out what to do
i always raise my hounds from pups but always have a good honest coonhound to help train them with if i have to get a hound i try it out in the woods first get the books to help educate yourself about trainin and listen to people
good luck to ya

no more pups for me. If it requires more than a ride to the woods and unsnapping the dog leash I dont need it.

If you

are new to the sport of coon hunting I would recomend that you not buy a pup look insted for a older broke dog something 6+ years old being new to hunting coon it should be a fair assumption that you don't have very much experance so if you don't you'll be alot better off if the dog does a good older dog can teach you more about the sport than a 1000 pup's and be a hell of alot less aggervating . good luck.
