After pups when do you put the female back in the woods

I can't stand laying a dog up for weeks at a time, my female is due next week, I hunted her for probably the time before having pups last night.

How old would you let the pups be before she can be hunted, at least on short one drop hunts again?

I always make sure that they are dried up before I hunt them. She snags a teat on a barb wire fence and she will rip it wide open. She can also get infection from getting cuts on her bag from dragging it against weeds, brush etc. I just dont feel its worth the chance before she is dried up good.

One week after the pups are off from her. You will see her dry up pretty quick if she is seperated from those pups. I hunted my female when the pups where 5 weeks old and completely off from her. SHe did fine and looks great, helps her firm up after the pups too.

Wait until she is dryed up, I took my female tonight pups have been off her about 8 days. She shook the rust off quick and had the meat on 2 trees in about 45 minutes.
