Ok guys and girls i got myself into a situation and i dont know what to do. i hunt with an older guy (i rather not use any names), and i take care of his dogs for him and everything, but i seemed to of dug myself a hole that i can't get out of.Right now i have a dog out of his stock that he talked me into buying but im happy that i got a pup but im not a black and tan type of a person. Before i bought one of his pups i talked to him about buying a walker pup because thats what im really interested in, but he told me that if i bought a walker the guys i hunt with wouldnt allow me to hunt with them because they dont like walkers, and there the only ones that i have to hunt with. and im affraid to tell him how i feel. now im stuck with a pup i dont want but im confused on what to do................what does everyone think

If the older fella you hunt with is a friend, he would hunt with you no matter what flavor of dogs you have. i bet ya he is just pulling your leg about the other guys not hunting with a walker. tell him your feelings. if he pushes you away he was never your friend in the first place!!! Try this, keep the B&T pup and find ya a walker pup about the same age. tell your hunting partner that you will train them both the same and that you are keeping the one that turns out to be best. If his B&T's are that good you will stay with them if not you gave it a fair shake.

I think if your friends wont let you hunt with them b/c you dont have a B&T, then your friends are retarded..............seriously.... they told you that you would'nt be able to hunt with them if you bought a walcur dog? hmmmm.........

Coonhunters have a peculiar sense of humor. Its an essential part of the sport. They may rib you about hunting a
Wal Cur but if he has the meat, you'll have the last laugh. Don't take that old B&T feller too seriously!
The sort of hound that suits you is a matter of taste. If he gave you a deal on the B&T pup out of friendship, you don't want to trade it without discussing it with him--he may want it back if he thinks it has promise. If you're friends, you should give him the chance to buy the pup back before you sell it. And if you can do justice to both the B&T and a Walker, TBaker's plan is diplomatic.

Get you a walker when you smoke him the next time you draw his b/t, he will be begging to hunt with you.lol No kidding I agree wiyh TBARKER if he was a friend it would not matter what you got at the end of your leash. There are plenty of walker men up your way you could get in touch with some of them. I sure there are a few that would be glad to let you tag along.

the thing is ..... he was being dead serious about the whole thing.........im going to sell the b&T and by a walker just to piss him off and because i like the breed ............. the thing is about hunting by myself is that i dont have my license yet.......but i am 16 though ..so he isnt going to try to pull anything on me..........I GUARANTEE IT
