Dual Grand Davis' White River Boige is Dead

I recently sold Bogie to Larry Carlin in SE MO. Larry had been hunting him heavily for the last month tunning him up for the 05 World Hunt. Larry said he had been doing awsome and out performed everyone else's dog that came down to hunt.

Sat night while hunting Bogie was hit on the road along with 2 fresh dead coons.

Everyone knows I have owned and trained numerous hounds I was found of, although Bogie was different and probably the BEST I've ever been in the woods with, with his mother White River Sugar right behind him!

This is a loss to not only us but the bluetick breed, as he was making his mark as a reproducer.

Phil,
Tim and I are so sorry to hear about Bogie's death. Tim told me all about Bogie when he brought Jen back. We where hoping to make it up that way so I could hunt with him too. Tim was very impressed with him when he hunted with you.
At least Bogie went out of this world doing what he loved and did best.
Our Condolences to you and Larry

So sorry Phil! Some people just don't realize these hounds are more than just dogs to us and how much it hurts to lose a good one.

Phil,
Loosing a hound that you trained and enjoyed hunting is tough. I know Larry certainly feels the loss of a nice hound is more than often the financial loss. On Boogie's behalf he was just getting some recognition for his reproductive ability.

In so many areas of this great country, turning a hound loose exposes them to excessive danger due to increased population. I have hunted many of nights in the area where Boogie was kilt. Today, when I go back to those areas, I see lots of traffic, homes and more blacktops. I enjoy turning a hound loose where I see no house lights, hear no cur dogs, and often never see an automobile. We still have a few of those places.

Man, I hate to hear that. I never hunted with Bogie but sure heard a lot of real good things about him. If he was better than Sugar he was nice! You sure seem to hear about alot of dogs killed on the highways nowadays, deeper hunting dogs and fewer and smaller places to hunt is a bad combo

Bogie pups

I have hunted with Phil ever since I started hunting. Phil has the ability to see potential in hounds that nobody ever sees. I know how found of Bogie he was. I was fortune it enough to hunt with Sugar and Bogie, to understand what qualities a good hound has to possess. I agree Bogie was in the process of make his mark as a reproducer, I personally own a GR Nt female out of him that is was natural from the start. Not much train needed, just turn her loose. Below is a picture I took last fall, it is of 3 Bogie pups treed on a coon. He was throwing pretty pups that were starting early.

Sorry for your loss. It takes along time to get a fine hound like that. You'll always remember the things he did that was so great in the woods and just around the house!
Also gotta love the looks of the fine pups, On the wood is great.
