Female in heat ?

My female and friends female are due to come in heat during the zones. I'm going to give her a shot so she dont come in. When do I give it?

PS all these "BAD" judges aren't going to scare me away.

Thanks

I'm with Driveshaft.....stay away from the shot.

I would recommend Ovaban instead. Talk to your vet about it. It is successfully used to stop a heat cycle. Must be given within three days of signs of heat, but it will stop the cycle if given properly.

It should not be used more than one time, allowing the female to cycle normally the next time around. The delay could be from three weeks to six months before the next cycle.

I have used it in the past, delaying the heat cycle for a big hunt, then bred the female successfully on her next heat cycle!

They make some pills that will just lay her heat cycle off for a month to two.I would go that way they are only about $20.Talk to your local Vet

you been drinking too much of that swampwater and dont care much for your dogs health as the used motoroil has chem's in it that will hurt the dog plus if the oil happened to get washed off ,you could end up with some coydog pups or worse..shows how much you care for the dog!!!!

MOTOR OIL???? My gosh, I'd put something on there that turned him away, not something that made it easier!!! lol lol Don't give her that shot because it'll screw things up later on. My buddy learned the hard way...

The "Bad" ones don't scare me either, it's the crooked ones, and "they" should scare you to.

I would not mess with a females heat cycle at all especially if you like her and want to raise a litter out of her someday. The UKC World hunt is not worth it.

Latenight

Been to the zones the last 10 years running. Thats 20 hunts and I've yet to draw a "crooked" judge. Maybe I'm just lucky.

once again Thanks and I'll stay away from giving her a shot. Dont think I'll take swampbottom's advice though.

Zones

Zones = imcompatent judging, everybody deals with them, no big deal.

Finals = Crooked judges, meet up with one of these in the finals, makes ya wanna quit.

Big difference.
