AKC, Canadian Kennel Club, and any FCI registry.

FCI registeries

FCI (Federacion Canofila International) http://www.fci.be/

The US is not an FCI country, and dogs born in the US cannot be FCI registered (unless their parents are registered w/FCPR out of Puerto Rico, then the pups can also be FCPR regitered).

If you purchased your pup from a breeder in Mexico, you would have FCM papers, if from Argentina, FCA papers. Both are a division of FCI & would be accepted by UKC.

Skuse me.

You are correct that the US is not a member country of FCI. But FCI recognized breed clubs, can and do breed pups here in the US.

My Deutsch Drahthaar was born in Kansas. His mother was born in Nebraska. Her mother was also born in Nebraska. It is not uncommon to find DD and DK breeders in this country.

Mine is recognized by the VDD (parent breed club) and FCI as a certified stud dog. If bred to an approved female they would make VDD pups. If I bred him to an AKC GWP or a non-approved DD the VDD and FCI would not recognize the pups.

I recently sent in his ahnentafel to register to run some HRC events. I've been curious about how many FCI registrations the UKC sees and what the predominate breeds are?

Hi Dave,

I can't really say one breed is more predominant than another in the FCI registered dogs. It is fairly even amongst rare breeds and our more popular breeds.

Registry Question

Since my dog is UKC registered I cant use a stud from another registery to breed unless he becomes registered through UKC. My question is what other registries will except my German Shepherd. I know AKC would not except her but it is giving me alot of problems for breeding to have the owner of the stud to get him registered through UKC. So why does UKC accept dogs from AKC and AKC not accept dogs from UKC. I guess it goes to show you how much better UKC is.

Trigger, we have no idea. If you want to breed your UKC registered dog to a dog of another registry, be sure to have it registered with UKC before you do.
