How Many Split Trees in a Hunt have You Had?

Last weekend was a first for me with this many.

First drop with a four dog cast we had a 4 way split, of course I had the first dog called treed so I didn't get to squall my tree.

Second drop had a two way split, of course I had first dog called treed so I didn't get to squall my tree.

Third drop two handlers withdrew and two dogs stayed. My dog opened and I treed him then the famous line, "Oh yeah, strike him too". The two of us in the cast got a good chuckle out of that one. Anyway the other dog never treed in with him and was just winding and locating in the general area but never where we could get her caught, so I didn't get to squall that one either. Talk about a run of bad breaks. In a two hour hunt that was 7 split trees. I've never seen that many splits in a two hour hunt.

On a pleasure hunt-2 dogs
1st drop- split 20 yds. apart-both coon seen
2nd drop- treed together- coon seen
3rd drop- 1 dog (walker haha) in hole -1 treed(blue) ,coon seen
4th drop- split - didn't find walkers coon, found blue dogs coon
5th drop- Identical to drop 3
This all happened in about an hour and 1/2 hunting off a boat on islands in the river.
5 drops split 4 of the drops. seen 6 coon.

I WAS ON A CAST IN HAMBURG, ARKANSAS A FEW
YEARS AGO & ON THE FIRST DROP WE ALL TREED
TOGETHER & SEEN THE COON , WE WALKED A SHORT
DISTANCE & RECAST , ALL 4 DOGS GOT DEEP IN
DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS & TREED , THE HUNT WAS OVER
WHEN WE WERE DONE WALKING & SCORING THE
TREES BUT ALL DOGS HAD COONS. THIS WAS ONE OF
THE BEST CAST I"VE BEEN ON & I DIDN"T EVEN WIN
THE CAST, JUST HAD A GOOD TIME.

About 7 years ago I wet hunting with a fella named Rick Dison. It was the first of many, many, pleasure hunts for us. I was hunting Dual Gr. Ch. Littlejohn's Little Arkie and Rick was hunting Nite Ch. Lockdown Spike. We turned both dogs loose together every time and never made a tree together. Each dog made four trees. Thats eight trees total, we looked at 9 coons with at least one coon seen in every tree. I always tell Rick I won that hunt because Arkie was behind on the last turn out, 4 coons to 3, then arkie gets struck and in a few mnutes treed, he had 2 coons in that last tree, told him I was counting that 5th coon as a tie breaker!

I don't remember the hole hunt, but as a non-hunting judge on a nt ch cast we scored six (6) 1st trees on the first set of strike points. There were 4 dogs on the cast and they never treed together on that turn out.
