2 Hour MANIAC

The one nobody wants to draw. The one that causes trouble at every event he attends. Every club has one. What, and how do you go about taking care of it?. I mean, when people draw out with them, they withdraw, because they know what's going to come about. It's got to hurt attendance somehow. Let's hear it.....

I'm talkin bout one that does all that plus ALOT more. Been caught, got slapped on the wrist, right back at it. What steps are you supposed to take before a club starts refusing his entry?

every club has the right to refuse entry. In pkc u have to send a registered letter and hold a meeting with officers of the club there is steps u can take to get rid of the rif raf. Good luck!!

I'm sure you all are very familiar with that yellow sheet the MOH/Hunt Director reads off before every event. If you aren't, you aren't going to hunts in which case the Maniacs don't concern you. But back to that yellow sheet, the latest one says on point # 5-"All handlers are reminded to conduct themselves as sportsmen at all times. Failure to do so will result in them being scratched and reported to UKC." So, there yah go. That's how you handle it. If there is unsportsmanlike conduct, you scratch it. You're not the judge? The judge is being unsportsmanlike? No problem. You ask for a cast vote to scratch that person. You lose the vote, no problem. It's a scratch question so you go straight back o the MOH and explain it to him. If the person did in fact exhibit unsportsman conduct, he is gone, you go on without him. If you are full of crap, the MOH will let you know it. The points is, there is an answer to this problem. Follow though or hush up.

On the other hand, if that Maniac is just someone who plays like it is a game of life and death, well, there is nothing wrong with that. Just because one guy is just out to have some fun doesn't obligate the other guy to hunt with that same attitude.

There always seems to be one jerkoff at every club you go to that people complain about making every cast horrible anymore. Yet not one club has stood up against this crap. I guessing their thoughts are every entry is more money but they need to realize they loose supporters every time they do this.

i can't see where UKC liking money has anything to do with ridding the sport of a problem. As Jim stated earlier, there are procedures to go through. If its a really bad problem, the mis-conduct form will most likely rid the sport of the problem for some amount of time anyway. What it takes, is the fortitude of the men and women involved to sign the papers, write it up, and basically press the charge. I think the problem lies in the fact that the club and persons involved are scared of the guy in question, not the UKC.

I have a question for you now. Was he written up, and the form sent to UKC, or did someone just call up there and complain? If it is not written up, and sent in, it did not happen. Stop condoning the problem by doing nothing and write it up. it'll get dealt with i am sure.

all u guys that know everything tell me this a few weeks ago at the club all of us hear yelling , so we all go outside to see what its about, and here he is wanting to fist fight with this other guy , right in his face yelling and screaming. master of hounds came out seen it all , why didnt anything happen then, why because everyone is scared of this guy. worst part is this other guy had his boy with him and he was crying because he was cared to death. so say what you want and if anyone wants to come here and stand up to this problem you are welcome to

Yep I'd say the sob made it so the kid will never want to comp hunt. And that is loosing income for the club and Ukc. Guy should be bared. This is becoming more and more common and a lot of times the reason things aren't done is the aggressor is a hunting partner friend etc to someone on the club board. .

It is the clubs fault.... And any licensed Master of Hounds should have his licenses taken away for turnin his back. You can not threaten anyone like that. How can UKC know it is goin on unless you go thru the propper chanels ??????? The sport does not need this kind of man period.

I don't know how people like you are talkin about act the way they do and must know how all feel about them and still show up?? It's nuts!! Maybe someone needs to sit him down and have a talk with him? It's just sad that the bad ones in the end run off the good ones!
