I'm sure you all are very familiar with that yellow sheet the MOH/Hunt Director reads off before every event. If you aren't, you aren't going to hunts in which case the Maniacs don't concern you. But back to that yellow sheet, the latest one says on point # 5-"All handlers are reminded to conduct themselves as sportsmen at all times. Failure to do so will result in them being scratched and reported to UKC." So, there yah go. That's how you handle it. If there is unsportsmanlike conduct, you scratch it. You're not the judge? The judge is being unsportsmanlike? No problem. You ask for a cast vote to scratch that person. You lose the vote, no problem. It's a scratch question so you go straight back o the MOH and explain it to him. If the person did in fact exhibit unsportsman conduct, he is gone, you go on without him. If you are full of crap, the MOH will let you know it. The points is, there is an answer to this problem. Follow though or hush up.
On the other hand, if that Maniac is just someone who plays like it is a game of life and death, well, there is nothing wrong with that. Just because one guy is just out to have some fun doesn't obligate the other guy to hunt with that same attitude.
