The best coon scent

I saw some coon scent stuff at Gander Mountain in Jackson Tennessee. I believe it was to attract coons. What is the best kind to get and where is the best place to get it? My pup has been going out with the other dogs and the other night we had one dog tied to a tree because we were trying to catch the other one and my pup I guess thought hey I'm gunna tree with the tied dog lol. It was just a small tree to tie her to but I guess my pup thought she would act like she knew what was up.

A real coons scent works good Just keep hunting her with that old dog. You get to the tree. Tie her back. Sounds like shes getting the hang of it to me.

Yeah and she has only been to the woods about 6 times at night. I have my fingers crossed on this little heifer!

"coon scent"

99% of all coon scent comes from a trapping supply co.
even the "top" stuff sold on here.
he buys it in bulk,re-packages and re-sells for good money.

there have been pups i know that would not open or tree on "scent".they knew difference from real/cage coon to "scent".
nothing beats the real thing.put rags in cage for a few days and use them.get a roll cage,or put one in a fish net.

Cracked corn mixed with molasses attracts coon to feeders.

Im not sure but it probably wasnt a scent to attract coon but scent to pour on your drag.In my opinion the best drags are made from removing the scent glands of a coon tie pantyhose around the glands and tie the glands to a fresh coonhide you can lay a track that best imitates the real thing

I just bought some out of the nite lite magazine and tried it and my hound just looks at me like I have lost my mind, but take her to the woods and she has started trailing and treeing good, imo the scent in a bottle aint worth the time or money I paid $15 for a 4 oz bottle , and it was money wasted
