There isn't any bears anywhere close to me but I have an idea. Is there a way to secure a feeder down tight enough that a bear can't break it free? I would imagine that would almost be more work than its worth. If you make the hole small enough that only a coon can feed out of it and a bear can't break it free to roll it around you would have your answer... I'm just not sure about how to secure a feeder that tight... pretty sure a couple of deck screws to a tree won't hold it.

Take a rachet strap around your feeder and the tree. Not one of them little cheap ones you get at walmart I mean a good 2inch one like you would use on a big truck. If the bear rips that off then I don't know what to tell you.
