Hey Walkerman,

I think that the american redbone days hunt will be in tennessee this year and I think in the western part of the state. I'm not sure of the dates, I think in June.

i think it contributes to a lot of things i live in east tenn and after seeing some of the hunting this country has to offer i can see why people complain about hunting here.they had the world hunt finals in murfeesboro tn one year.i believed the hunt attendance dropped and after it was over everyone was complaining.i think the terrain and lack of coons are the biggest problems

if the people that have real coondogs they wouldnt complain. if they have a hound that can tree here than they have a pretty good hound. thats the way i see it.

I live in East TN, and I am seeing more coons around here now than I have in the past ten years. One thing that contributes to so many coons around here is that there are hardly any coon hunters where I live, but an abundance of deer/turkey hunters.

Not many clubs here in Tennessee have the membership to put as many dogs in the woods as needed for a hunt like Walker Days...... I don't know of a Club in Tennessee that could send 400 dogs to the woods a night.....I don't know of but 1 or 2 that can send 150 a night & they have to have alot of help from other clubs to do that...Good Huntin' & Keep'em Lookin' Up !!!! Jason

The same goes for any where in the deep south, not many dogs would show up , low scores win's in my area. Have hills and hollows, swamps , and dogs has to work for coon's around here. And when it gets late spring and summer , things crawling on the ground stops lots of people from hunting. I dont pay them no mind, good drops can last a long time around here evern though we have losts of coons.

I'm from the big city of Mooresburg in Hawkins County in East TN. And if you want to know why they don't have any big hunts there i'll send you some pics of all the rattlers killed last year . Not to mention it's like walking up and down a cows face > Can't call a time out just cause the mountain is to dang steep.

Yeah in the days before the other KC bought it! I remember when you did good to walk and look at everything in one day there. Now you can do it in 30-45 minutes.
