You would have to take the Way Back machine a pretty good ways to get back to Sleepy Nick or Red Rattler but I have some dogs that carry a little of that blood way back. I know Tony Lusch had some of that blood but he got his start from an old boy that lived on the Embarras (Ambraw) river near Rose Hill, Illinois by the name of Emery Strole (I hope I got the name correct). I never hunted with Sleepy Nick but I remember visiting Emery and seeing Nick. Emery used to let him run loose most of the time. Emery has been gone a long, long time.

I have a little of the blood going back to Reynold's Tom Tom. I bred my Dual Grand Champion Campus Creek Dolly to Tom Tom even though Dolly smoked Tom Tom pretty well the night we hunted them together (ask Bobby Reynolds).

I heard Tony was completely out of hounds but I haven't seen or heard from him in a long, long time. I go through Salem on my way to Iuka or Mt Vernon from time to time. I know Tony used to like squirrel dogs and you can see by my signature, I have some top squirrel dogs.

Just as a coincidence, my Phoebe goes back to the Tom Tom/Dolly cross and is due to have pups in a couple of weeks. But these pups are Junior bred and line bred on a dog called Dual Grand Champion Bam Bam Two, a double grandson of Dickey's Old Sandy. I will say Old Phoebe has a decent nose and likes to have a coon before she trees. I killed a bunch of coon over Lucky Penny, Phoebe's mother, this last winter. Penny is a grand daughter of Tom Tom and Dolly. Penny will be 11 years old her next birthday.

funny you should have a female named Lucky Penny , I had one named Dual Nite CH,Gr.CH Howard's Lucky Penny out of Big Creek Barney and Peggy she was a good one, cold nose cut over dog and accurate, She Die in 97, Thats when I gave it up for awhile, just started back up few years ago. things sure have changed.
Ya Tony has been out of it for some time, does have a few good squirrel dogs left,He's in to mules now, we call him ASS MAN!!He has been A good friend to me and alot of others he's a dandy!
I Believe Bobby's son has a pup still out of my Big'n dog and Claybrooks Bev. Bobby is a hard hunter! Man seems to know and fallow a good hound.

My Lucky Penny was named after her sire, Lakeland's High Steppin' Daddy whose kennel name was Lucky. Lucky was out of Tom Tom and Dolly. He was a great dog that treed me 100's of coon. Lucky beat a Gold Champion in a PKC hunt one night and didn't get credit for it. I never went back. Lots of my dogs have titles but they really don't prove much. I have never been a big time Nite Hunt competition hunter. Too much BS.

I have lots of video of Phoebe, Penny, Lucky, Tom Tom, and Dolly. I even have video of Dolly's sire, Dual Grand Champion Buckshot II, and of his sire, Nite Champion Buckshot Jr. I owned all of these dogs and Buckshot Jr's mother and her mother.

The next time you see Ass Man, tell him ole Dave Haugh is still around. Maybe I will come for a squirrel hunt sometime.

I used to own a real good squirrel dog out of one of Tony's Ambraw dogs.

Your right on the titles but nice to see, Yes your right about the competition hunts, but draw a few good men and dogs sometimes makes you kinda stick it out.

would like to see your videos sometime.

Next time I see Tony will send message along. He's down in Shawnee, High Knob,Riding his ass this week.

Went to a hunt Flora last night, got lucky! Maybe go to Sesser tonight. Need to win my hundred for the PKC World. Been good talkin to you. Give us a call sometime. Believe Bobby may still have my number. Thanks and good luck with your new pups!

I have video clips on this board and on the English board. I have been video taping English for over 25 years and have lots of good English on tape.
