It's not. I guess they figure it's the only way to be sure they'll get some qualified

That option is available to each UKC Chartered Breed Association. Some have chosen to make that a part of their Thursday All Breed Hunt while others have not. The English and Walker Associations have special invitational type formats on Thursdays so that likely plays a part in their decisions to remain soley with such. And, that's perfectly fine. Fact is, those two associations continue to find their specific formats to be very successful which is a great thing.

Invitationals dont qualify for world hunts, i understand all breed hunts but that is what they should be left to, rqe should be for all breeds, theres not a Ukc sanctioned blue tick or walker only world hunt

Fact is Walkers and English don't need them. The others do.

Every RQE I go to is pretty much an all walker hunt........lol........Jim I think that comment about other dogs needing them is the first time I've ever read anything you wrote and not agree with it. I respectfully disagree

Its just a qualifier. Unless you live in Alaska, you probably have several RQE's within a reasonable distance.

The RQE on Thurs. night at B&T Days has drawn 99 and 125 dogs the past 2 years. Qualifying there is ALOT tougher than qualifying at your local club RQE that draws less than 40 dogs. At those backdoor RQE's you might get to guide and judge and a CW with 25+ guarantees you get qualified.

You guys are right. I retract my feeble effort at being a smartass.

Everytime I make a comment like that I get reminded by someone of the last time I got beat by a Bluetick, Redbone or Blackdog.

Instead of calling them RQE's for only one breed perhaps it should be renamed as a BSQE (BS meaning Breed Specific, not male bovine excrement like some of you were thinking).

JUST THINK HOW MANY IT WOULD DRAW IF IT WAS OPEN TO OTHER BREEDS.

Mostly an effort to draw dogs . If you're interested in Purina Points it's the only chance you'll have at a breed day . If you want a chance to draw out with good dogs of your breed (fellowship hunt) and still earn a win on your dog in UKC. You're there with a lot of miles behind you why not try to qualify if you intended to somewhere anyway .

On the other hand :

No Performance points , several think it's wrong.

Could just drop all RQE's . How far have you advanced if you don't enter the zones ? Not at all ?
I'm guessing the same amount of serious contenders would enter the zones whether or not they ever heard of an RQE.

Some like it some don't, in the end does it really make a difference ?
