Until you get her to the vet you, and anybody else will just be guessing at best.
Have seen such description with outcomes from putting tooth trough inside of mouth, infected bone/stick pokes, imbedded straw seed, bee stings, soft tissue trauma causing hemotoma, tooth infections, to cancer.
Diagnosing dog over the net is like getting on here asking why your truck isn't running right and asking people to diagnose why it is missing. There are a lot of things that mimic other issues.
Vets aren't always correct, I know I have disagreements on tests and diagnosis ideas with them from time to time (I am usually more in the ball park than the vets when such happens). But there have been times when the vets and I have been stumped and we had to both research and run tests to find the correct diagnosis through trial and error (last in 99 when a malinois female had liver damage from heartguard, ivermectin).
Over the net there is so much information not given that is helpful in narrowing down possibilities and there's no ability to run blood tests, take samples, or even get an idea of odor, etc. We all can guess, and somebody might be right. But how would you know which is correct anymore than those guessing?
I wouldn't chance my dog's health to those on a message board in a case like this. Face infections, which is the least worry on the scale of possibilities can still be fatal or cause perm damage being so close to the brain if not treated properly. If something is imbedded infections can return until the object is removed, tooth infections will also return...
It is better to be safe than sorry. I see the sorry part from dog owners a lot.
Your safest bet is to take the dog to the vet.
