corn and crushed acorns....

also saw video of crushed beets.....
anything else and you are just paying for nothing. We have used everything on the market and have trail cams showing them walking over the deer cocain, and everything from some syrup stuff to a rock looking attractant and they havent even touched it yet. I still keep the cam up to watch progress of my deer and they still wont touch anything but the corn and acorns.

maybe somebody else has had better luck than we have. I just know we have spent a lot of money the past few years on useless names. save your money and buy corn. half as cheap and you get 10 times more for the money.

Corn is probably best as a feed. As a mineral trace mineralized salt works good in big areas of the poorest sandy land around. Looks like Florida type land. Also dolomite agricutural lime has Calcium and Magnessium and a little pile might cost $2 and last years. Put out side by side they dig out what they want. The bad thing is it attracts wild hogs better than deer. They wallow in it. I ca't say it grows bigger racks but they use it sometimes sprig or fall. They freshen it up and eat dirt where there hasn't been any put out in years sometimes.

Doesn't seem to work near as much in good cropland areas. Lime piles everywhere i guess.

COPPER!.......100Gr. doses injected @ about 3450fps into the front half of the chest about mid-line. Lead can be substituted, but should be wrapped in copper to ensure propper delivery.

There is a lot of hype about high dollar deer minerals out there. I just keep out cheap trace mineral blocks. They love them and I figure they are what is recomended for livestock, can deer be that much different?

Lucky Buck brand mineral. Grows big racks and keeps them in the area.

Goat mineral, dig a hole chopped the dirt up as fine
as you can mix the mineral in. Leave about 1/4 of
the bag to pour on top. Start this during a dry period.
Works good for me,and is much cheaper than any
of the deer minerals.

If your just wanting to keep them coming around. Regular ol rock salt will do it. I normally buy about 5 trace mineral blocks and place around our property. Then about Aug. I start putting out corn beside it. Hang my trail cams and see what's made it.

Trace mineral is just that a tace of mineral. Nothing gets any amount of useful mineral but salt. Read something trace mineral more then 90% salt.

Feeding corn is fine when it is cold or for keeping deer in an area. Corn is about the last thing you want to feed if you want deer to have big rack it is about 8% protein but it is high in energy for the cold. Plant clover or something hi pro to grow bigger deer. The deer farms feed about 18% protein when the deer are on drit. Your deer can go and eat anything that is low protein so if your going to plant something why not plant something 25% or higher in protein.

Mineral is not going to keep deer in an area. If I'm wrong tell me more about this mineral.

Bedding areas, food + water and no pressure( people, trashy dogs, and predators) is what keep deer some where

Ever notice how people from the south can't seem to shoot anything without feeding it first? Coons, deer, whatever, they can't seem to find without feeding it. Daniel Boones they ain't.

Tyler a good salt source sure will keep deer in a area from may through sept. Same bucks will hit it night after night through these months. Once mid sept comes around. They don't use minerals or salt much anymore. They don't hang around but corn will still get pics of them every few days. If you really wanna boost em up. About now you can feed them cotton seed mill mixed with corn. Don't take much its high in protein. So is Kudzu. I have bunches of it. No need for summer plots. They stay in it. These new kudzu bugs are about to tote me off though. I hate em.

minerals

salt is just an attractive for deer. deer need three minerals for optimal antler growth and i might be wrong on the three( pottasium, calcium, and maganesse. if the concentration of minerals is to high in the ground they will not use it until it leaches out. and as corn not a fan. most people dont realize that it has mold on it. feed suppliers cant sell it for stock feed above a certain percentage of mold, so the sell it as DEER CORN. if you wouldnt feed it to your livestock why would you feed it to your deer population. just my opinion

.

My Son who lives in Knoxville and two of his hunting buddies drove up to KY and got some of the Trophy Rock from some guys property last weekend. I think they got a trailer load and it was something like $25 a rock or two for $25 just not 100% sure.
They think the stuff is great!!
