RIP Just wanted to let the friends and coonhunters know that Sam Matkins passed away this afternoon at his home in Pedro Ohio. Sam always loved and hunted Walker dogs since the 1960,s He also had a Gr. Nt. Ch. Beaver Lake Thunder he offered at stud in the early 70,s He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him Till we meet again old buddy RIP.

Rip Sam had some awesome hunts with Sam my buddy Eric and I would meet up with Sam with ole grntch waltz roadblock and tree all kinds of coons Sam u were a gr8 manand friend. Rip buddy!

RIP ol'boy. I'll miss them phone calls when YOUR OHIO STATE BUCKEYES beet my BADGERS and I'll miss callin you when the tables are reversed. I'll miss the times when you came to Wisconsin to hunt with your good friend Dave Kayser too. Until we meet again. Matt.

The Butch dog Sam had and sold to Dave McCloud, is in about every dog we've had for a long time.

prayer up for sams family..... sorry to hear.. i knew sam a long time ago sold him a couple of pups out of ol spooner.
.. leon childers and i went down and hunted with sam once . he sure was a good ol feller and had alot of knowledge about dog sand breeding. talked to him many times over the phone years ago... again sorry to hear. rest in peace Sam...
