I've often wondered what it would be like to have the nose of a dog for just a day. Besides looking funny on us (haha) I figure it would pretty much overwhelm our senses since we are not used to it.
I'm sure a dog can smell coon through the smell of koolaid or soured corn as I once had a dog running a track, ran across a skunk, got sprayed right in the face, quit for about a minute, then went back to finish the track and tree the coon. If a dog can smell the coon through a direct shot of skunk musk I figure they can work around the koolaid or soured corn.
But, I also see hiball's point. If you're starting young dogs on buckets filled with smelly stuff, do they start to associate a coon with koolaid smell? and, if they do will they be a little confused or not want to run a wild coon that doesn't smell like grape koolaid? I don't use feeders so I don't know. Just a couple questions that came to mind.
