I use a heavy duty cardboard stock box, 36" by 48" on a pallet with a top. I built a lite frame to line the edge to keep the female from laying on a pup along the edge. I put it in a stall in the barn and throw it away when finished.

I converted a black livestock waterer from Tractor supply into a whelping. Its plastic so it will clean up easily. I like the rounded corners as it makes it safer for the pups.

get your self a nice kiddie pool...... go to home depot and make hog rails out of pvc....... use some old bath towels or blankets in the bottom.....and there ya go !!! The pool is really easy to bleach out and disinfect...it's a great way to keep the area germ free, and gives the pups a safe place to romp in for a few weeks !!!!
