How to score this??

Have a 4 dog cast, all dogs strike and tree. the coon is in a pond in a tree. 3 dogs are on one end of the pond only about 10 feet from the coon and the other dog is at the other end of the pond but is treeing at the pond. I feel that the single dog should be minused on tree because of where it is. I was just curious because it was said to me that it was like a dog on a bluff treeing a coon that is in a tree in front of him that he can't get down too. Just wondered what to do if this came up.

Guys on here will line up to say minus, but i think if the dog is showing you the correct tree he deserves his points. The question is if you were hunting alone just you and that 1 dog would you have seen the coon from what the dog was showing you?

Nobody can tell you how to score this over the internet. You have to see the dog and see what it is doing. Is it booger barkin the water? Is it afraid to swim? If so it's minused.

Those other three might need minused to depending on what they are doin. Are they treein the coon or are they booger barkn the water afraid to swim? Plussin or minusin has nothin to do with how close the dog is to the coon. It has everything to do with the dog SHOWING YOU THE COON. Dogs can be 10 feet away and be showin the correct tree and coon and need plus, and they can be right under neath the coon and showin the wrong tree and need minusin.

Can't know unless you are there.

Any houndsman should be able to tell what or if the dog is treein. Tree style is not mandated by UKC rules. Dogs don't have to touch the tree, or tree at the base whatever.

What it has to do is tree, stay and the judge be able to tell what it is treein on and score that accordingly.

Gotta see it to score it.

These dogs all got wet!!! They aren't afraid to swim. They just came back to the bank. but the odd dog didn't come to the end with the coon. Thanks for the response. I see where this would depend on the situation.
