I have a g3 trashbreaker, it works good, I like the charging cradles, but I am not happy wth the range. The older XL series trasbrecker I owned before out performed the newer tritroics hands down. I don't know about the sportdog guy down the road has one and it works well. Hope this helps

The older Tri-tronics 70 & trashbreaker had a LOT better range and reliability than the G2 & G3 series.

My next buy will be a Sportdog.

I have had T.T. brand for the last 20 years. The classic 70LR with the antennia would outperform this G2 crap I have now.300,400 yards on a good night is realistic .........THE RANGE IS NOT 1/10 AS ADVERTISED....even in an open field.I have sent mine back also and I felt the issue wasn,t resolved.I inquired with the customer service rep and she tried to tell me that her records did not indicate the repairs made that was noted on my customers invoice.....SOMEONE SCREWED UP SOMEWHERE...COLLAR CLINNIC ...are top notch facility and will make my repairs in the future.I dont know anything about Sportdog. The customer service lady was nice to deal with.....COLLARS STILL WORK PART TIME..........G2 IS A PIECE OF JUNK......I have spent enuff $$$ thru the years and I have always consider if you can,t say something good ,maybe you shoul,nt say anything at all........TRITRONICS HAD A GOOD PRODUCT AND CHANGES MADE IT WORSE FOR MY APPLICATION...Just my opinion....JBG

i had a classic 70 for 10 years and had no problems until batteries finally played out . i ordered a new DT systems from nite lite about two years ago and its a very nice little unit , it has tone , a beep locator , and 16 levels of shock , it lasts alot longer than my 70 did on a charge as well . i think their all pretty good units , i havent heard much about dogtra brand collars yet , would like to hear some input on one of them as well .

haven't got to try the new tri tronics. i have a sportdog 3200 and like it just fine and has good range on it. thinking about upgrading to the 3225 though it has more options than my 3200 does

You'll love it, the transmitter is easy to carry and the the tone option is great, I had my dog tone broke in basically a few minutes.
