I lost mine while leading out my dog. I downloaded the track from the collar to another garmin then into the computer onto the waypoint software. I trimmed out all but where I was pretty sure I lost it, loaded it back onto the other Garmin, followed my track I made the night before to get in the area. Just in case I took a 4 mos. old pup with me and figured if I got close and the pup smelled something with my scent on it he'd check it out. Worked exactly as I thought it would and once I got him close I looked for it myself and watched him out of the corner of my eye and he stopped, flopped down and had my garmin in his mouth about to chew on it.
