picking a breed

I was wondering what makes you choose to hunt a certain breed over another. I've only had walkers but wouldn't mind having a black n tan or blue dog if the chance came along. Majority of dogs around here seem to be walkers with a few blue ticks and very few black n tans.

dogs

I hunt walker for the fact that, at least where I live, there are 10 walker dogs that will run and tree to very one dog of color. I have hunted other breeds and liked them, to be honest don't know that I could tell any difference a good dog seems to me to be a good dog.

I'm the differant guy round here I hunt with Blue English dogs. Most everybody else hunts walkers. I would like to have a Walker/Bluetick cross next.

It's just a personal preference! They way they hunt, run a track, tree, voice, personality, the way they look. Just what I personally like in a hound.
