He was homeless. He & his mother lived in a car.

This man was once homeless. His father became an alcoholic and he and his mother had to live in a car and move to a different spot every night to hide from his father. He wasn't going to amount to anything according to everyone, but he never quit trying. But he didn't listen. He got into college and paid his own way by working any job he could. Once he was in college, he could not afford student housing. He and his mother rented an apartment together, but they still didn't have enough money. He and his mother had to share the same bed and rent out the other bedroom to keep from going homeless again.

Attending a football game he saw all the big time receivers drop passes. He said he could do better. Everyone told him he had no chance. Who was he? He wasn't a big time football player. But he didn't listen. He kept trying and made the team. Well, he was never going to play because he was a nobody. But he didn't listen. He became a starting receiver for the National Championship Alabama Crimson Tide.

He wanted to coach. Well what did he know about coaching? He was just a receiver with only a few years of playing big time football. But he didn't listen. He became the head coach of Clemson and vowed to change the direction of the program. Well, he was a nobody that had only coached for a few years. No way could he do that. But he didn't listen. Now he has won the ACC 2011 Championship. Congratulations Dabo Swinney. No one deserves success more than you.

Great Story

Congrats Dabo and Clemson team. Just proves, if you got a little "want too" in you, anything can be accomplished. Take care, Ron.

I heard the kid from the Saints had a rough childhood as well! I think his name is Jimmy Graham and he has overcome huge obstacles in his life as well.

Another awesome story

Believe in yourself and what you are trying to achieve, prove to others their comments or jealousy is not an obstacle but a stepping stone towards your goals.

Jimmy Graham had a terrible life as well. Jimmy Graham has a God given talent and is smart enough to use it. He should be commended for that big time. I feel like Dabo didn't really have any special ability. I think he was a regular fella just like us, but because he was so determined, he knew the only way he would get ahead was to outwork everybody. And no matter what he went through, he didn't quit, which is just unbelievable to me. This country is full of people with their hand out asking for more, and he never did.

and Mike,,,Amen.
