Savage bolt action, clip fed stainless barrel and synthetic stock. Took a hacksaw and wacked the barrel off at 16 inches and put a weaver 2 power scope i had laying around on it. Works fine and is light.

Normally, I carry a Henry Lever,

but I lost the feed tube about a week ago. I am now carrying what I carried for years prior, Nylon 66. I really love the 66, but it is a pain taking a shell out of the chamber after the coon is dead. I just refuse to carry a gun at night with a load in the chamber.

Same here Tim. I carried a Winchester Model 190 tube feed auto for about a week just of a change of pace and besides the fact that it was the worst p.o.s. I have ever carried, I hated getting that shell out of the chamber without chambering another one. The Winchester 22's made right after '64 were an absolute abomination.

I just picked up a Mossberg Plinkster. I always wanted a Crickett but didn't like the idea of the safety lock having to the taken out and it being a single shot, but I wanted something small and lightweight like the Crickett. The Plinkster is just the ticket. Small, lightweight with a 10 shot clip. It has a good sights on it that I haven't needed to put a scope on it but I'm such a terrible shot I might add one later on.
I know there are better .22s out there but I want to travel light.
As for what is in the rest of my top storage... I'm a hoarder. I've got .22 shells, nail clippers, old batteries, a light emergency blanket, dog first aid kit, old beep-beep tracking collars, AKC club packets, and a roll of toilet paper.

I carry a savage single shot that I bought from Jay Hyde for 40 bucks ..open sights, with the one sight slightly bent.

Ya have to know the secret to hit anything....p.s. ya have to aim low to the right to hit anything took me about 50 shells to figure that out
