Longest coon ever

Just wondering whats your longest coon ever skinned from nose to tip of tail and from nose to base of hide (without tail) we always hear of big coon in size of pounds but we skin ours in woods so just curious

I never started measuring until a few years back, but the longest one I can remember was 42" at base of tail. Never bothered to measure to end of tail, I was told that when a buyer measures the coon to buy, they go by that measurement. So to me that was the one that counted.

My biggest was 42" also and the only reason I know it is it was as long as the gun I had with me. That was the biggest coon I have personally ever seen that I shot.

I have killed several from 50-54" from nose to first ring on tail. Not here around home though. We used to travel about 45 mi. west of here every thanksgiving night and hunt. Seemed like every yr we would get one in this range. Havent been over that way for about 3 yrs now but there is big coon over there.

Big Coon 56" to base of tail - 65" to tip of tail

Many years ago when in school I tried that famous one more run. Turned my 2 redbones loss and bang started right away. Chase was on over 2 hours later and a 1 1/4 mile walk they treed on a den tree but there was Mr Big Coon on the outside. Shoot him but he died right where he sat in the crotch of the tree and had to climb up throw him out. Looked like a bear cub on the ground. Too big to carry out had to skin him.

That's big

I can remember as a boy when we lived in western NY treeing on that was huge. We ended up skinning it in the woods but measured it at home and it was 54 inches from nose to base of tail. It was huge.
