wats the best dog food for a coonhound that hunts 3-5 days a week... diamond hi energy,,diamond performance formula,,purina one performance,,and sportmix is all i have found around here.. let me know wat yall think

If you have purina one, you should be able to get Purina Pro Plan Performance. It does the job, its not cheap, and you did asks what is best.

Sportmix 26/18 is the way to go if you are hunting a dog hard it has small pellets of feed just like black gold. So if a dog is tired or down i believe that eat just a little bit better when they are down. I think sport mix is just as good as black gold I have feed both. been using sportmix for about four years now.

I like diamond hi energy. Have been hunting the past 32 nights in a row and my dogs are have held steady weight through the season and are muscled up. I pay 22.50/ 50# bag and my buddy spends 29/ 50# bag for black gold I can't see where the extra 6.50/bag for the black gold comes into play.

I feed Sexton Brother's 24/18 Pro-Endurance. I've hunted my female hard and she's held weight, muscled up, and her coat is still shinny and slick.
