Dominating Traits

Based upon observation it seems that some lines of dogs or individual dogs throw dominating physical traits that when you simply look at them without seeing their papers you know pretty much what they are out of before anyone tells you. Like the clover dogs most of these dogs that I have seen are black and white with little brown, some throw the calico ear and when you see them you pretty much can guess what they are out of. Thats pretty dominant for a line of hounds to consistantly throw those physical traits. The dogs that I have seen out of the Wild Card dog pretty much have the same coloring and in my opinion look alot like him (some don't obviously). The Wipeout dogs throw that smut around the face and you can see it in more than one dog. Also I have seen some hounds out of Honey Creek Harry that look very much the same in the face. Just and observation and a opinion, I just talk about walker dogs because that is what I am familiar with. These are physical traits I am talking about and not abilities.

I've got a family of dogs that when people look at them, they can tell they are related. I've seen picture of the great and great great grandparents and it is spooky how much they all look alike..

The breeder behind these dogs 3 to 5 generations back came and looked at my kennels one day.. He had gotten sick and sold out of dogs a while ago. He couldn't believe how must they all still look the same. His wife teared up some when she seen them..

A lot of the same hunting traits.. A whole lot of the same hunting traits also.. I've started linebreeding on them to keep it consistant.. So far it is working..

These are just the few pictures I have.. I wish I had taken more.. Most of them you could pick out of a crowd as being related.. You can come to my house and pick out the unrelated dogs really easy LOL

Line traits

I showed my female against 2 others out of the same line but all 3 were bred a bit differently. Both of them had judges ask if they were littermates.
