Keep hunting him there are some guys out west hear hunting bird dogs and bird dog Xs on coon and bobcats and lion they work great . I have seen two germin shorthairs that coud care lees about a bird both woud catch a coon on ground 1 woud tree um and woud try and pull um out tree if he coud. No reason your dog cant catch a coon eather .. good luck whith him looks like he is off to a good start ..

Also, bees my best guess, but if you want to quess at what makes up a prominant strain of mountai cur , look at Visla for color and Gettem and weirmeramerar to reinforce the gettem part. But I am just wildass guessing though I have been around browndog curs with black muzzles and Mr. ---- birddog crosses all my life. I guess it was like the old prisonfarms with a holiday conjugation visit with the jailer making the cross.

my neighbor had one, he was a horse and wasn't happy unless he was playing somekind of full contact activity. i wanted to try him in the big woods but they moved. he was a true athelete.
