Deer came to tree

Have you ever had a deer come to your tree. I went out pleasure hunting after a hunt tonight and my blue dog was treeing and had been for 30 minutes or more before I got there. A nice 6-8 point buck came up with in 25 yards of the tree and just circled us. Never did act afraid. He just walked around like he wanted a better look. We had an earth quake just before this happend. It made the cattle run around a little. Just wonder if it had anything to do with the deer.

Same here C.P.

I can remember 2 times in the last couple of years that we have had a whole herd following us thru the woods as we were walkin to the tree. And then followed us nearly all the way back to the truck. And yes ,I surely wish that we would've had some of them deer hunters taggin along that night. You know-----the ones that don't want you coonhuntin' their woods during deer season cuz you'll spook every deer outta there.GIMME A BREAK!!!!!!Heck,I went by myself the other night and walked up within 15ft. of a doe that was just layin there. She never even moved.I just went on my way.

Went to a tree one night and counted over a dozen deer within 50 ft. from the tree watching the dog.

Rob I have a farmer that allows me to hunt his 2 farms..between the 2 its around 4500 acres...I can't hunt it until deer season ends.....guess my dogs spook his deer too..... I just wish they could hunt one time and see the deer standing around checking us out....

the deer see us and our dogs way more often than we see them. they are more accoustomed to us than we are of them. of course the dogs see the deer all the time too.

It's nothin' short of RIDICULOUS!!!!!!I used to deer hunt myself with dogs that were trained to run deer. And I can't tell you how many times the dogs have run a nice buck practically to the next county, and the very next week-end,you could jump that same buck.I'm a firm believer, cuz I've seen it with my own eyes many many times, that if a coon dog happens tocross paths with a deer--as long as that deer knows he aint bein chased by that dog,he will normally circle right back or go lay down elsewhere not too far. But,you sure can't convince them deer hunters of that.

I've see it a lot. It always amuses me that they're a whole different animal after dark.

Two weeks ago I was walking to my dog treed on an oak ridge. Acorns are scarce this year but this ridge has a bunch. When I got 100 yards from the tree I saw eyes everywhere. I put my spot light on them and there was a herd of deer all around my dog. I walked within 30 yards of a nice 8 pt. He just looked at me and went back to feeding.

I had a deer come in to my dog one night and stay there while I shot the coon out then followed me back to the truck staying about 50 yards behind me the whole way. WEIRD.

Another night a buddy and I were hunting a pup and an older dog. We were sitting on a mound of dirt waiting for the dogs to figure out a lose. A doe was bedded about 25 yards from us watching the whole thing and she never left the whole time. The dogs circled in and out of the woods within 10 yards of her. The dogs finally got treed just inside the woods from where she was. We shot the coon out and left and she stayed there.
