We're going on average about four nights a week, hunting an area were you can be in hills/hardwoods and creek bottoms or drive twenty minutes and be up on prairie row crop type ground with hedge rows at field edges. We've ran a couple in holes this year, another one or two in brush piles.
Our old dog is a straight cooner, we've had pups put armadillos int holes, we just let them get their head in the hole real good and hit the fry button, one or two time is all it usually takes to break them. Others I know use ammonia and stick their head in the hole until they get a good snoot full, but I'm afraid of burning their lungs or eyes.
