We made apple butter last weekend, ended up with 235 pints.

 hey

thats cool me and my boys are tryin to make some cant get it to turn out right. gonig to do some more reading LOL i got started making it because i was reading a old foxfire book and thought it would be something we could do together the 1st try was fun but not to good. but the hogs loved it.so the boys want to make them some more LOL

There ain't a buttermilk biscuit within 100 miles that will be safe this winter with that stockpile of apple butter in the pantry. We make us some but do it in a big crock pot. That copper lined cook pot, how old is that? That's a nice setup for doing it outside with the fire. Thanks for posting that. Anything cooked outside is way better than the same thing cooked indoors (Willsey's Law of Fire Cooked Vittles).

Its a 40 gallon pot.

it's only about 6 years old I think. the brother in law had it made. One of the other Bro In Laws has a 30 gal kettle.
