The progression of a pup

Tonite I watched a pup that was born and raised in my yard out of my old dogs make the big step from a nice pup to a nice young dog. Jimmy is out of Ringo and Josie and has been running, treeing, split treeing since about 8 months old (just like all his littermates that I have been able to keep up with). He is a year and 2 days old tonite, took him and Ringo made a single dump with each of them both showed me a coon by themselves. After that I dumped them together they struck a track and ran him across a patch of woods down a ditch and back halfway up an old spoil bank. Well Jim trees and Ringo went on about 50 ft (according to Garmin) and trees. 38 minutes later I get to them and Jimmy is holding his tree with a coon and Ringo is doing the same. According to the Garmin Jimmy never left his tree to go check Ringo's. Blakemore's Diamond Jim is by no means a coondog yet but he is making progress. Oh and just like all my dogs no leash required anymore. I still tie him to trees but he walks out with me just like his momma and daddy....... Im not bragging to much but boys Im happy with him so far
