If your talking about track dogs being able to work out an old cold track with the temp below freezing and snow on the ground in the winter and have a coon then I will have to say the Clover dogs.

If your talking about the dog that will go out barking and fall treed the fastest, which many people think makes it a fast track dog, then well there are plenty of those out there.

Poison Whiskey. He is out of Tequila Sunrise and Wipeout Zebbie. I do not own a hair on him anymore because my partner and I had a falling out. Hot, freezing temperatures, rain, did not matter. Always had the meat.

I agree with Craig about Whiskey, I only hunted with him one time but he took a track in a downpour and worked it up and treed it in style and had the meat. He really impressed me.

BEST I HAVE SEEN AN FASTEST I HAVE SEEN AN OWNED WAS WIPEOUT DOGS. THEY ARE A TRACK DOG DELUXE. COLD MEDIUM OR HOT TRACK IT DOESNT MATTER, THEY CAN MAKE IT GO WHEN OTHER HOUNDS STAND ON THERE HEAD.

John why does the title of this thread make you laugh? There is good and bad in all breeds. I have hunted with all breeds and the best track dog I have been with was a walker. I was lucky enough to have owned him. Austin Campbell finished him out for me. He was sure enough a coondog. The best I've ever been with. And yes he is a walker. His name is Poison Whiskey.

I traveled this country for many years and have hunted with some real good dogs. I’ve seen some of just about every line out there at one time or another. Different lines of walkers are known for different traits as far as hunting style and ability. I’ve seen many dogs from different lines of walkers that could sure tree a coon. I have seen no other line that reproduced more dogs that possessed the desire to push a track than the Yadkin River line. Not saying dogs from other lines can’t push a track but I think you’ll find that no line reproduces more dogs with the natural desire to push a track than the Yadkin River line. The Yadkin River line is not perfect and I’ve sure had some that were worthless but after spending many years and countless miles hunting with dogs from different lines I haven’t hunted with another line of walkers that made me wanna jump ship for over 30 years. JMO Good luck with your dogs

More like the best game runners. Most of the ones I have seen don't run track, they run game. If you get them broke off trash and only run coon you might have a dog. They didn't get the reputation of being hot nosed from running track, they have to have something in front of them. Also this is the reason they slick tree so much, they don't have the nose to figure out what tree the coon went up in the dark. JMO on what I have seen.
