me and my buddy were hunting fri night, we went late about 2 am full moonout but was a bit cloudy, we cut loose struck hott blew hard about 500 yds treed we get to the tree and start squalling , i found the coon when some thing i thought were june bugs started buzzing around my head hitting me a was swatting them away i was so busy trying to get a better look at the coon my buddy yells beeeeeeeeeeesssss wow we had a mad bunch of them to i yelled turn your light off needless to say i grabbed the dog and we got the h#ll out of there i got stung 2 times on my lip and 1 time on my nose swelled up worse than anything i have ever been stung with befor

any body else have anything like this happen?

we treed in a holler snag one night, seen the coon on the outside which i thought was weird till i felt something that felt like a bullet hit me in the back, after some further stings we figured they was those big red and yellow hornets hurt like all get out, me, my buddy and our dogs where all swelled up for a couple of days.

i've been there a few times. i hate wasps and hornets more than snakes. some times they get all over the dogs too.

had a dog get treed on a tree next two a vellow jacket nest once. walked in and seen her tree then bite at her hip then tree. after that they went right for the light on my head. i called her off and ran for cover.

Just about two months ago, we got to the tree and it was covered with honey bees! wads of them bigger than your fist. dogs got stung some but wouldnt quit. we had to drag them away.. luckily we didnt get stung once.

happened to me twice.Second time dog was treeing funny.When we got to tree I seen right away .He had bees on his on his head and several other places.I hollared bees .Every one for themself. I had to call that dog for several minutes to get him off that tree.No way I was going after him.I hate them yellow nasty little devils.

hounds treed in a small cedar tree one night. I told my son to shake the tree to see if there was a coon in it. never found the coon but did find a yellow jacket nest. kinda took the hunt out of the boy for the night.

Stopped one day listening for dog with Windows down, felt something sting me bout that time hundreds of yellow jackets filled the inside of my truck, jumped out ran down road finally got away from them. Realized I had two other dogs in the box getting stung had to go get back in truck and drive off so they would quit being stung. Think I got hit over 40 times that was no fun at all.

Was hinting one night and came across about 20 honey bee hives. Don't Ever let anybody tell you them honey bees ain't attracted to amber lenses. Cause they sure as crap are!

There was an old double tree down in the bottoms, probably 8 feet through, it also done double duty. It was a combination den tree and beehive, it wasn't bad after the temperture cooled off but it got real rough in the summer months. There was a coon that did den in the tree, we treed him a bunch of time, it was probably him going up that got the bees bent out of shape. The dogs treeing seemed to get the things even more irate ! They would meet you coming across the field before you could even get close to the tree . Believe me you didn't want to take time to shine those trees, as it would turn into an intense experience. As I was the idiot of the bunch, they elected me to go get the dogs off the tree, after the first time in, I found out turning off your light and holding your breath seemed to get you stung less, guess made you harder to find. But after that I trained my 2 hounds to answer to a horn, the others grew to know to come off the tree with them, when they heard me hoot it. That saved a bunch of cussing and having to buy medicine for the stings that happened the first time i went in. These were a black bee, must of been a native type. When it was really hot you could walk in to the trees in the daytime and see honey running out a small opening down lower on the tree, and watch the bees flying in an out, and they didn't pay any attention as long as you didn't get right up on the tree.

My cousin climbed a tree to look down in the hollow. When he got most to it bees started coming out of a small hollow below him. He shimmied back down in a hurry and never got bit. It must have been just cold enough. If it had been me my nerves wouldn't take it. I would have had to jumped.
