Western Howard Conservation Club Youth Hunt

Thanks Western Howard Conservation Club "Make You Feel At Home" for hosting a great Youth Hunt. I guided for my Grandson and his fellow competitors, fine young men. I truly felt if my Grandson and Lumber didn’t win the hunt our cast would, with the milk run hunt I planned. We had a great time and I put the young men on coon and I put them through their paces with one woods .3 mile off a county road! I wish I had written their names down so I could give credit where credit is due. We had an Ace young handler with his Grand Nite Champion Hound. His Hound finished with 700 + no minus and his hound did not have all first strikes and trees. Thanks to Rick Stretch our Judge, this fellow knows his stuff, he is strict and straight to the point. On our way into the .3 mile woods I heard Rick say " Clifford, this is the way we hunted 25 years ago, and you don't have to keep up with those young fellows". I told the young fellows I felt our cast would be the winner. They where not bored for one second. I told the fellows on the way out of that woods, after asking what the Grand Nite Champion was out of and being told He was Sackett bred that he was a descendent of Bellar’s Shep and Braxton my Grandson was leading Lumber, a frozen semen son of Bellar’s Shep. What'a bout that! My Grandson was the first drawn for the youth prizes with number 711, a lucky number. The prize was a stud fee he donated back to the club. The only desire Braxton has for a stud is Bellar's Whats up Fred, Sir of Bellar's Whats Up Jack! Braxton says " I don't care much for the Nite Hunts and thier rules, I love pleasure Hunting and correcting the dog the way you (Me Grandfather) showed me." There is a lot of huntres like you Braxton, Mr. Ralph Deventer for starters!
