I'm having a lot of trouble with flies this year. What is something good to put on dogs for this and around the kennel. Thanks

I spray my dogs with Deep Woods Off every other day.works well for me.Live stock fly tags work well use the Python tags from TS
zip tie them to the dog's collar.Don't use around little puppies.

I use the predators as well, but have also noticed an increase in the flies. I get them every 3 wks. I also use the Bronco spray. I just wonder if its due to how dry its been here that are bringing them out.

With other products, I like the bottle fly traps. I put a little water in the bottom, put the attractant in, and wait a couple of days. As soon as it traps a few flies, their decaying bodies really attract the other flies. Once they get in, they can get back out. I sometimes catch several gallons of flies a week. They make great fish food on the lake I live on.

I do the same as Lakeland. I hang the fly bags and cattle ear tags on the dogs collars. I don't know if the ivermec monthly injections help, but, my flies are at a minimum.

When we lived in CA we had almost no problem with flies until someone with horses bought the property next to us and put a paddock right alongside our kennels. At that point we tried all kinds of things -- fly predators, Bronco, garlic supplements, D.E., weekly bathing, baggies of water, dryer sheets. Nothing worked short of bringing the dogs in the house.

Now we live in IA with hog confinements on either side and the flies are just as bad. I use the Earthworks D.E. year round and I can't say whether or not it has reduced the flies, but I can say the outside dogs still have biting flies driving them crazy.

I prefer using a minimum of chemicals in and on my dogs. I haven't tried using cattle tags yet, but that may be next on the list.
I have the utmost respect for people in TX who, it seems, do battle with every known kind of pest virtually year round. I listen when they speak!

Flies have compound eyes. they see a lot of the same images when they look at something. The ziplock bag works because the water inside make it hard for them to focus. Hang em at the top of doorways and u will see a difference.

Same here old ben, found this form a little while back and tried the Perm 10. I love it, one product cures 4 problems, flies, ticks, fleas, and mosquito’s. Plus I have been spraying it on my pant legs and a little squirt on ball cap when I go out with the hounds, no need to buy any more bug off. I bought the cattle tags but ended up taking them back. I have been using Perm 10 for two weeks now.

I use it when I worm the dogs 1st and 15th of every month. I have just been using it in a spray bottle, but from what I gather you can use it in a squirt bottle as well, like using Frontline or such.

Here is a link to the form on Perm 10. and a pic of what the bottle looks like. I had a heck of a time finding it, but it is at Tractor Supply, even asked two people that worked there and they couldn’t find it or even heard of it. It was there near the horse sprays and cattle tags both of which has the perm 10 in them.
