Split Creek History Kennels Class Act

I was fortunate to make the trip down and hunt some very classy people this past weekend in Iowa. (How did this weekend's football game turnout? ~) I've talked to them numerous times at various hunts throughout the years and managed to walk along a couple of the casts that they were apart of, but never really had the chance to just go pleasure hunting with them. The friday night started out with a full moon with a strong chance of rain rolling in early the next morning and we all were pretty skeptic on how the coon would be running that night. Although the hound that I so wanted to see in action (World Champ Quick) was pretty much in full heat, never the less I really enjoyed seeing 2 off her daughters hit the woods. With one being their GrNtCh dog named Agile (Trackman X Quick), who they just came off with winning 9th place at this years UKC World Hunt. (getting beat in a tight cast in the 3rd round to the eventual World Champ Mr.Clean) Next was the 9month old female out of Quick and Buddy named Solo. Along the 2 females we also hunted their GrNtCh male dog named Buddy. Although our 1st dump was consisted of pine trees and rocks, the rest of the night turned out to be one of the nicest pleasure hunts I've had. If I can remember we made 10 trees with 9 singles and 1 double along with the 20+ we saw sitting up. The commodore was priceless and I witnessed 3 outstanding dogs do their thing individually in the woods. I was throughly impressed with the young female named Solo. She had a nice loud caring mouth and was a classy young tree dog. Could it be another UKC World Finals dog for them? The odds look good, jmo. So, to Dennis,Todd and Eric Felderman I thank you very much for having me down to hunt and putting me up for the night in your lovely home. I had a great time, and would like to do it again. Its not many times I allow myself to get my picture taken, but I couldn't resist the offer to have it taken with your World Champ Quick dog!
